Tools for Teaching Evolution

Are you looking for ways to present current, relevant evolutionary biology research to your students?  Would you like your students to analyze real datasets using the same computational tools as researchers? Would you like to join a community of educators working together to develop and refine pedagogically sound biology or evolution materials?

Bioquest logoThe BioQUEST Curriculum Consortium and the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent) invite you to a free workshop designed to introduce you to a collection of educational resources drawn from current evolution research projects.  In addition to NESCent logohands-on introductory sessions with these resources, participants will receive information about other relevant educational materials from BioQUEST and NESCent, and how to participate in the BioQUEST community.

Morning snacks and lunch will be provided.  Participants will receive a copy of two books of teaching resources from BioQUEST: Microbes Count and Biological Inquiry: A Workbook of Investigative Cases.  There is no fee to participate in this workshop, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. For more information contact Jory Weintraub at (919) 668-4578 or eog@nescent.org.
