Celebrate Darwin Day at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences

Spend an afternoon learning about famed naturalist Charles Darwin, take a closer look at his theories and their impact on modern science, and meet some of the scientists who are continuing his work.

Some Like it Hot: The Evolution of Chili Peppers
Dr. Roland Kays, NC Museum of Natural Sciences
--With Local Chef Josh DeCarolis, Jujube Restaurant

In "Some like it hot," scientist Roland Kays will team up with local chef Josh DeCarolis (of Jujube and Dos Perros) to prepare foods and facts related to chili peppers. Learn about the secrets of chili peppers while sampling delicious chili-inspired foods from around the world, prepared live while you watch. Mild dishes will also be available for the faint-of-tongue. On the menu:

* Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas with pico de gallo (jalapenos)
* Bruschetta all Puttanesca (cherry peppers and dry chile flakes)
* Millet fritters with harissa creme fraiche (dry smoked chiles, paprika)
* Stir-fried pork with fresh Chile sauce (Thai chiles)
* Chicken Curry (Ground Cayenne)
