Meeting:

NESCent Celebration

Date22-Nov-2014 ~ 23-Nov-2014
SummaryThis event is a 1½ day symposium with a strong focus on evolutionary and comparative medicine, to take place at the Washington Duke Inn in Durham, NC from 21-23 Nov 2014. The occasion for the symposium is the anticipated transition of NESCent (the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center) to a Triangle Center for Comparative and Evolutionary Medicine. NESCent is an NSF-funded synthesis center operated by Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and NC State University, and dedicated to cross-disciplinary research in evolution. We anticipate that as we transition to a Center focused on evolutionary and comparative medicine, we will present exciting opportunities for the Triangle’s large population of researchers in medicine, veterinary medicine, OneHealth, and many other areas of evolution, ecology, and environmental science.
