GMOD for Evolutionary Biology: GMOD Helpdesk @ NESCent
This is the GMOD Helpdesk Wiki based at the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent). GMOD, the Generic Model Organism Database, is a relational database and suite of software applications aimed at providing useful tools to scientists studying model organisms. This wiki is for management of the GMOD Help Desk. It is not a public wiki, and access is restricted to GMOD Help Desk Staff only.
If you are seeking help on GMOD please see the GMOD web site.
NESCent is an NSF-funded center whose aim is to foster the study of evolution using all branches of biological research and the most recent advances in these sciences. These two organizations are working together to promote the use of GMOD by evolutionary scientists.
We've established this Helpdesk facility to help those scientists. We want to tell biologists about GMOD and we want to assist them if they choose to use it in their research. We see these efforts as part of a collaboration between scientists, software developers, and bioinformaticians that will greatly aid scientists and also lead to new uses for GMOD.
The GMOD Help Desk is supported by the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent), NSF #EF-0423641, by a specific cooperative agreement from the USDA Agricultural Research Service and by funding from the National Institutes of Health.
