NESCent Leadership
NESCent’s leadership consists of four Directors, with a variety of community derived groups providing regular input.
NESCent Directors:
Allen Rodrigo, Center Director
Susan Alberts, Associate Director, Science and Synthesis
Todd Vision, Associate Director, Informatics
Brian Wiegmann, Associate Director, Education and Outreach
The Operations Committee, comprised of NESCent Directors, three at-large members representing the three collaborating Universities, and one postdoctoral fellow, is responsible for decisions regarding the general operations of NESCent.
The Senior Advisory Board is charged with advising and overseeing the broad picture of NESCent's plans for synthesis.
The Scientific Advisory Board advises NESCent Directors on funding proposals for postdoctoral fellowships, sabbatical fellowships, working groups, and catalysis meetings.
NESCent is a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation and major activities are determined in collaboration with NESCent's Cognizant Program Officers: Saran Twombly, Judith Verbeke and William Zamer .
Clifford Cunningham was the PI of the initial NESCent grant, and founding Center Director. Greg Gibson served as Associate Director for Education and Outreach from December 2004- July 2007; Joel Kingsolver served as Associate Director for Science and Synthesis from December 2004 - December 2009 and Kathleen Smith served as Center Director from January 2006 - December 2009.
